You posted this on my birthday. I needed to read exactly what you wrote. I knew about the tension between the "already here " and the "yet to come", but sometimes we need clear reminders and someone else to help us see which side of the horse we're currently falling off from (Ahhhhhh, trying to translate an idiom into English. Sounds weird...).

Christopher, your ability to enter in and expose the wrestle so many face is an amazing and sacred gift. Thank you again for putting precise words to burdens and shining a light on the Truth.

I continue to believe that the world doesn't reject the gospel of Jesus Christ because it's too rigid or too "hard", rather because it is simply too good.

Be blessed Brother for your consistent, beautifully written empathetic reminders.

Praise the Lord, I was praying today and over the weekend for the Lord to help me reconcile my past and for boldness to preach the Word and be bold about Him, to let go of fear and be bold and stand firm in faith to let go and let God so to read this and the other selections today and from conversations with friends this is all confirmation! Praise the Lord

I'm in my 40s and just beginning to discover what you write about here. For so long (even through theological education and international ministry), my primary thoughts of Christ were in the realm of a theological category as you mention. I've been discovering my emotions recently and seeing Christ more as the Lamb. It's been a healing journey. I appreciate how you have described it here.

Excellent article! Sharing with several. Saving to read again.

As someone involved regularly in deliverance ministry/healing prayer, I deal with people who are doubting their salvation (because their leaders’ doctrine is over-realized eschatology) and are paralyzed. The process of sanctification - putting off the old ways handed down to us from our ancestors - is a necessary journey. Without it, we’d never learn to behold Christ. Salvation would be a singular event lost in the blur of our lives.
